Freshman Scholars Institute

  • Ways of Knowing is a small seminar-style course that provides students with a virtual freshman year at Princeton, offering insight into the different ways that various disciplines produce knowledge.
  • Students launch bottle rockets they created in the lab over four weeks — a hands-on design and engineering experience that included integrating physics and math skills.
  • FSI students take advantage of Princeton's location to visit New York, Philadelphia, and the Jersey shore.

Welcome to the Freshman Scholars Institute!

If you are an incoming Princeton student and have been invited to attend FSI, we hope that you can join us this summer; we are very excited to meet you!  Please explore this website to learn more about the program. Feel free to contact Dean Khristina Gonzalez at with any questions.
